Nancy Wilson - You Can Have Him

This morning I wanted to start my day with one of my favorite vocalists, Nancy Wilson.  I will always regret that I never got to see her perform live but, thanks to Youtube, there are lots of great performances of hers out there.  I first heard this song, from a show called Miss Liberty, on one of her live recorded albums.  It's a great song by a great performer.  Enjoy!

Quote for the week

Hope is a very important factor in my daily existence.  I would not want to wake up each day if I did not have hope, but thank God I do.  It gives me light!

In The Garden, arranged by Cynthia Dobrinski

This is one of my favorite hymns.  I love this arrangement by Cynthia Dobrinski.  I played this in a handbell choir at Caswell music camp.  It didn't get performed in the actual concert because of time constraints, but I fell in love with it.  Two of my favorite things:  handbells and In The Garden.  I'm so thankful that I grew up in a church that loved music.  It's one of the reasons I love music.  Be blessed!

Anne Murray - A Little Good News

I am choosing this song again from 1983 because it's so totally relevant to our world today.  At least it is in how I wish to perceive the world.  We all know that we can't turn on the tv or get on the computer or internet and find much goodness unless you seek it out.  That needs to change.  We need to focus more on the positives.  And I do not mean we need to ignore all of the ugliness and cruelty and evil, we just need to balance more.  That is all.

Finding some inspiration on vacation

What a wonderful week we had at the beach.  It was exactly what we needed.  Very relaxing and the weather was near perfection.  Good times with good friends.  It made me feel so grown up, actually planning a vacation...making the reservation, planning on menus, making packing lists, etc.  That was a good feeling.

Of course, anytime I go on vacation, I always come home with these inspired ideals about how I want to life my daily life.  It's like every vacation comes with its own set of New Year's resolutions.  This one was no different.  Naturally, being at the beach can make a person self conscious about one's body.  You can't help it when you see all of these tanned, muscled fit people having fun on the surf.  I'd think I have a beached whale body instead of a beach body LOL  Actually, I'm getting quite comfortable in my own skin...right now my own sunburnt skin.  But I do look at people on the beach and find inspiration.  I would like to, one day, turn heads on the sand because I've gotten myself in shape.  Trivial, I know, but what the hell...might as well dream!  My plan was to start going for a walk in the morning's while my coffee is brewing and, of course, today I wake up to a heavy rain storm.  Ah well.  Maybe tomorrow will be clearer!

We also watched a show called "Hot Mess House" while we were there.  It's on HGTV and it's all about organization and cleaning.  I actually really enjoyed this show and would love to see it again.  It reminded me of a show on there years ago called "Mission Organization".  It gave both Michael and I lots of good ideas on things to do with all of our stuff.  Yesterday, Michael bought some storage containers and worked in the garage.  We carried big pieces out to the curb for bulk trash day....two of which were picked up overnight.  I spent several hours Sunday morning organizing my desk and file cabinet.  It was a little project, in the scheme of things, but I did it thoroughly and was very pleased with the outcome.  It's nice to see things in their place and actually be able to see the desk top.  Taking things one step at a time!

Even as I sit here and write this entry, I find myself getting inspired and excited about making the most of what I have and how I do things.  There are lots of other things that I found inspiring, but I will save that for another post.  If only I could go on vacation every week, I'd live the most inspired life LOL  ah, well.  Until then, time to go clean something!

That is all

Softly and Tenderly - Sangah Noona

I wanted to start out my day, and the new month, with a beautiful quiet hymn on the piano.  One of my favorites!  Be blessed!
