Each day I have taken time, even if it is just a few minutes, to do something for myself. It is time when I put my phone away and stay off of the computer and just focus my energy on relaxation, meditation and restoration. The length of the time does not really matter to me but the quality of what I'm doing does. And it varies. Some days, I take a nap. This is something that I enjoy doing and it is amazing how refreshed I feel, especially after a long day at work. Of course, I set an alarm so that I don't sleep for two hours but it is still refreshing. I have taken the time to read some. Just an hour or so getting lost in another world is a good thing. I have listened to music. Sometimes just putting a cd on, putting in the headphones and just taking in the music is so relaxing. No distractions, just beautiful melodies to sooth the soul. And I do not plan on what I'm going to do each day. I just do whatever my mood feels like doing. It is nice to have this process be on the organic side for me because I'm such a list person and normally have everything spelled out.
Today is another day, so I'll see where my self-care leads me today!
