Recipe of the Week - Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Coffee Cake

 This is another good recipe I found in one of my used bookstore buys!  I have only made this once, but it is definitely a keeper.  It's good for breakfast or as a dessert.  Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Cake

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 8 oz container sour cream

1/4 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla

Topping

1/2 cup walnuts

1/4 cup sugar

1 Tbsp ground cinnamon

1 6 oz package chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350.  Grease a 9" tube pan.  In a mixing bowl, cream butter with sugar.  Add eggs.  Sift dry ingredients and add to batter alternately with milk and sour cream.  Add vanilla and mix well.  In a separate bowl, mix topping ingredients.  Pour half of batter in tube pan.  Sprinkle half of topping over batter.  Pour remainder of batter and sprinkle with the rest of the topping.  Bake at 350 for 50 minutes.
